DPS Modern Indian School faculty Ms.Diana Bastain and Ms. Mariya Taheri attended an interactive CPD session at MES Indian School on 18th March 2023. The session started with an introduction and a video on the achievements and the past- future goals of MES Indian School. The Principal Ms. Hameeda Kadar welcomed and addressed the gathering throwing insight into empowerment programs for teachers to reinvent, reorient and upgrade teaching skills and strategies for a child-centric generation.
Ms. Farhana Nazeer the first speaker of the day started the presentation on why is Life skills education for sustainable development important. She focused on negative behavior in children, parents having no quality time for children, no proper exposure to the right things, and how learning life skills at a proper age can curve these negativities. Learning life skills at a proper age can influence society in a positive way. – Self-confidence, Conflict resolution, Time management, Creative and resourcefulness, and Critical Thinking were some of the life skills that were discussed.
Ms. Remya Nandakuma continued the session by giving a talk on effective Communication skills – Being an active listener, exchanging ideas, and taking turns.
She also spoke about Problem-solving, Decision making, and Being empathetic which need to be inculcated among students.
Activities to inculcate a few life skills were shown.
The session ended with a vote of Thanks. It was an excellent interactive session where teachers enthusiastically shared their views and participated in activities making the program a success.
The enriching workshop experienced Nineteen Indian School All over Qatar.
