As part of the Qatar Chapter Capacity Building Programme, a workshop was conducted by the M.E.S Indian School on September 24, 2022. The Capacity Building Programme comprised of two sessions, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am based on the topic “Effective Implementation of Physics for Higher Classes”. Two teachers of Physics Department, Mr. Jayakrishnan V and Ms. Nazia Taranum, attended the programme, representing DPS-MIS, Doha Qatar. The first session was led by Dr. S. Shaji Kumar, Head of Physics Department and it focused on the importance of Physics subject and also how to implement theoretical concepts through activities and experiments. The resource person demonstrated various in text activities such as total internal reflection, dispersion, polarization, reflection of light etc. The second session was led by Ms. Soudha Mohammed Jaleel HM Girls of M.E.S Indian school and focused on the real life examples of Physics topics from VIII standard onwards. Overall, the capacity building programme enabled the participants to make their teaching practice more effective by focusing on encouraging scientific attitude and also motivating children in classrooms and also provide guidance to implement activity oriented classroom in teaching.
