TOPIC: DIFFERENTIATED INSTRUCTION IN MALAYALAM
CLASSROOMS.
This report outlines the details of the workshop conducted on ‘Differentiated instructions in Malayalam classrooms’.This workshop was a part of the Qatar Chapter Capacity Building Programme and was conducted on 18th March 2023 in The Scholars’ International School, Muaither. Malayalam Teachers from different Indian Schools in Qatar took part in the workshop.Ms.Remya Girish and Ms.Shaheena Nisam represented DPS Modern Indian School.
The program commenced at 9.00 am. Mr. Anand Victor, The Principal of The Scholars’ International School welcomed the resource person Mr. K.G. Subhash Kumar, HOD of the Malayalam Department, and the teachers from different schools. It was a very interesting and informative session where participants discussed the various difficulties faced by the children in Malayalam classrooms and how they can be resolved. After the discussions and presentation, participants were engaged in a few group activities. Each group was given separate activities related to a common topic. Some of the important topics discussed during the workshop were
- Ways to introduce differentiated learning.
- Activities for differentiated learning.
- How knowledge can be constructed in children.
The workshop ended at 11.30 pm. After the photo session, participation certificates were given and teachers dispersed.
It was a wonderful opportunity for teachers from different schools to get together and discuss the problems faced by them and also to share solutions so as to make the teaching experience better.
