DPS Modern Indian School hosted an Inter-School capacity-building programme “Imagination Station – A Workshop on Storytelling”, under the aegis of CBSE Gulf Sahodaya, Qatar Chapter, on 18 March 2023. The session was attended by educators from various schools in Qatar.

 The extremely engaging session was initiated by the resource person, Ms Amna Firdausia who threw light on the importance of storytelling, and its benefits in a classroom as a medium to enhance the teaching-learning experience. She discussed the ways in which storytelling and its nuances could be incorporated into classroom teaching. This was followed by a storytelling session, wherein the resource persons Ms. Amna Firdausia, Ms. Shiba Nasir, Ms. Abbriti Majumder, Ms. Rajni Jain and Ms. Harsha Nair used various techniques of storytelling like narration, dramatization, use of gestures, props and voice modulation to demonstrate how the teaching of concepts in various subjects could be effectively done using a storyline. During the latter part of the session, the participant teachers presented a story exploring and explaining different concepts and values through the story.

Principal Ms Asna Nafees, Vice Principal Ms Shifa Shaikh and Headmistress addressed the audience of enthusiastic educators and urged them to narrate stories to enhance the learning environment in the classrooms.  It was indeed an interactive, informative and enriching session, and received positive feedback from the attendee educators.
